We chose not to go after this one due to some life commitments (aka we have jobs and this was rather short notice for a cane). Would like to wish everyone the very best in the path of the storm. Here s what you should know about the storm: -Winds are currently at 120mph. That s a category three hurricane, which is classified as major. -If that classification holds, it ll be the first major hurricane landfall in the US since 2005. -The minimum pressure has continued to fall today, which indicates the storm has still been strengthening. -Wind damage will be maximized around the eye, where some of it could be significant. -Storm surge, as always, will be maximized north and east of the eye where the flow brings the ocean on shore. -Flooding from heavy rain will be particularly bad, especially across S TX. #HurricaneHarvey #hurricaneseason #weather
