Violeta Parra
Violeta Parra was a Chilean composer, singer-songwriter, folklorist, ethnomusicologist, and visual artist who pioneered the Nueva Cancion Chilena, a renewal of Chilean folk music.
Orígenes
Working from the mid-1950s through the 1960s in Chile, Parra devoted herself to collecting and reinventing her country's folk traditions across both music and visual art.
