Ana Tijoux is a French-born Chilean musician known for politically charged, socially conscious hip hop. She became one of Latin America's most respected rap voices.
She first became famous as the MC of the hip hop band Makiza in the late 1990s, then crossed into the mainstream in 2006 via the hit “Eres para mí” with Julieta Venegas.
Her music is Latin hip hop with sharp, literate lyricism, weaving political and popular themes over rich, organic production.
Albums like 1977, La bala (2011), and Vengo (2014) earned wide acclaim, including a Best Artist award at the 2015 Pulsar Awards, cementing her stature.
1977
“1977” is her signature song, an autobiographical track that brought her widespread recognition as a solo artist.
