Julio Iglesias is a Spanish singer and songwriter recognized as the most commercially successful Spanish singer in the world and one of the top record sellers in music history.
Born Julio José Iglesias de la Cueva in Spain, he launched his career in 1968. Over the following decades he built a vast international audience, recording in many languages and performing across the globe.
His style centers on the balada romántica — lush, romantic ballads delivered in a smooth, intimate voice. That accessible, multilingual approach helped him connect with listeners on six continents.
Iglesias has sold more than 300 million records worldwide in 14 languages and is estimated to have performed in more than 5,000 concerts for over 60 million people. In April 2013 he was inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame.
