Rock en español is, broadly, rock with Spanish-language vocals. Despite roots in the late 1950s, few acts broke beyond national fame until a mid-1980s-to-90s campaign called "Rock en tu idioma" — and later the Internet — connected audiences across the Spanish-speaking world.
