Puerto Rico's music is a dynamic blend of African, Taíno and European sources, ranging from native genres like bomba, plena and seis to the hybrids that conquered the world — salsa, reggaeton and Latin trap.

Salsa runs deep here — Marc Anthony, the Fania All-Stars, Willie Colón, Héctor Lavoe and El Gran Combo — but the island's reggaeton and trap dominate the catalog: Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Wisin & Yandel and, today, Bad Bunny, alongside pop stars Ricky Martin and Luis Fonsi.
