Fuerza Regida

Fuerza Regida is an American regional Mexican band from San Bernardino, California, and one of the pioneering groups of corridos tumbados. They grew from a cover band into a chart force.

Origins

Formed in San Bernardino in 2015 as a cover band by frontman Jesús Ortíz Paz with Samuel Jáimez, Khrystian Ramos, and José “Pelón” García, they started out as a norteño group before broadening their sound.

The sound

Beginning in norteño, the band absorbed several subgenres including corridos tumbados, built around accordion, twelve-string guitar, sousaphone, and tololoche.

Legacy

As one of the pioneer groups of corridos tumbados, Fuerza Regida helped define a sound that reshaped regional Mexican music in the 2020s.
