Natanael Cano is a Mexican rapper and singer credited with launching corridos tumbados, the fusion of trap and regional Mexican corridos. He sparked one of the biggest movements in modern Latin music.

Origins

Cano rose around 2019, and the idea to fuse trap with corridos came from Dan Sanchez, who wrote his first corrido tumbado, “Soy el Diablo.”

The sound

His sound fuses trap music with regional Mexican corridos, pairing acoustic guitar-driven corrido melodies with a hip-hop attitude and cadence.

Legacy
